- Shoes: High quality hiking books or walking shoes. Plus, an additional pair of walking shoes for the tour itself.
- Socks: 3 pairs of Smartwool thick hiking socks and 3 pairs of quality sock liners.
- Medication: Desitin, Body Glide, over-the-counter pain relievers, blister prevention and treatment.
- Spending money & Credit Cards: Change dollars into Euros before departure but not at the airport. A couple of hundred dollars in Euro should be enough to get by but make sure to also bring two credit cards—one for regular use and ATMs (don’t forget your PIN) and the other for emergencies (to be concealed in your luggage lining). Money belts are a great idea!
- Sleeping bag and a plastic ground liner for underneath your sleeping bag. 6X10 blue tarps work great.
- Passport and a color photocopy of your passport to conceal inside of your luggage lining in case of loss or theft.
- Raincoat or poncho, plus a waterproof bag to keep essentials dry inside your pilgrimage luggage.
- Small bowl, personal water bottle, spoon, and small flashlight – a must!
- Head Covering for protection from sun and rain.
- Small backpack or quality fanny pack—a must!
- Clothing for the Pilgrimage: Sturdy pants (blue jeans are discouraged since they do not dry and cause terrible chaffing over 3 days), durable long skirts, a sweater or light jacket (preferably something that can be stowed in a backpack or easily tied around the waist when the temps rise).
- Clothing for the Tour: As we will be in and out of churches and holy places, we ask that modest slacks and skirts be worn (no shorts). Jackets, ties and formal dresses are never required though certainly permissible.
